Choosing the Right Poly

Wondering what kind of poly to use for your project? Use our guidelines below to take some of the guesswork out of it.

For light-loving flowers and most food production, especially with high light plants like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and melons, use 10 mils clear poly. They allow in maximum light for your plants while evenly distributing the light so you don't have to worry about hot spots.

Pond Liners

To line the bottoms of your fish ponds etc., I use 12 mils or 24 mils black/silver poly. Very durable, it also blocks light from the soil below the pond liner, preventing grass, moss, etc. from trying to grow under the liner. We make small or large sizes.

Farming/Sheds/Tarps

If you're looking for barn curtains, tarps, sheds, covers for grain, woodpiles or your machinery, or poly for a barn or shed roof or poly mulching. 12 mils black/silver poly is, overall, our most popular colored poly as it is lighter weight, but still keeps the sun off/out and very durable. For much heavier jobs though you can also use 24 mils black.

White/White Poly

White on both sides, it will reflect light inside and outside. Enough light comes through to see.
